Program Goals

The Economics major is designed to fulfill the following learning goals:

1. Knowledge of economic concepts

Demonstrate an understanding of economic decision making, market interactions, and the aggregate economy.

2. Quantitative approaches in economics

Demonstrate an ability to apply appropriate statistical methods to understand economic issues.

3. Critical thinking

Demonstrate an ability to apply economic methods of analysis to problems and issues, including the applications and critical evaluation of economic models.

4. Communication skills

Demonstrate effective written and oral communication of economic concepts.

5. Diversity

Demonstrate understanding of economic inequities both in the United States and internationally.
