Welcome to the
Center for International and Intercultural Studies
At St. Lawrence University, students make connections around the globe:
- connections with friends and home stay families encountered while students are abroad;
- connections on campus with students from diverse places;
- connections in academic courses between events in the U.S. and abroad;
- connections between what is learned abroad and then brought back to campus to enrich on-going studies;
- connections between what is studied in the classroom and what is experienced in the greater world.
The Center for International and Intercultural Studies fosters this
connectivity in many ways:
- The off-campus study programs, which include
semester and year-long study opportunities on six continents, as well as
summer courses offered abroad.
- It provides helpful information about on-campus housing
options where the focus is on internationalization and
multiculturalism.
- You can link to the academic programs
most closely associated with off-campus study (Modern Languages,
Global Studies, Cultural Encounters, and seven area studies).
- Under Student Grants you can find
information about SLU travel enrichment grants, grants to support
independent research abroad, and examples of student projects and
research. Other information about financial support for off-campus
study is available here as well as information about post-graduate
opportunities abroad.
- Deadlines and Events gives information
about important meetings, deadlines, and cultural events associated
with off-campus study.
Welcome to the site and the opportunity to make your own connections!
