Academic Advising Programs

At the heart of St. Lawrence’s Academic Advising is the principle that each student is ultimately responsible—that is, each person “owns”—what happens during college. From the very beginning of their time here, students are urged to recognize that their four years are precious, a time of both exploration of myriad possibilities and conscious planning in light of this exploration.

The advising office coordinates peer tutoring, advisors, and major declaration.
Academic achievement and support advises on problem solving, early warnings and academic time management.
The CSTEP and McNair programs provide services to eligible students to prepare them for Ph.D. programs and professional careers.
HEOP expands opportunities for top-quality higher education to those who would otherwise be unable to attend based on test scores or income.
We coordinate supportive services and programs that enable students with disabilities to reach their educational potential.
