My name is Jen Finan. I am a junior here at St. Lawrence studying Biochemistry. Currently I am the Co-President for the SLU Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter. I am also living in the Habitat for Humanity Theme House. Our chapter just finished a build working with the North Country Affiliate for a family of five. Next fall we will be working with the North Country affiliate on their next house in Malone. Other exciting experiences I have had at St. Lawrence include doing research in the Biochemistry field and studying abroad in New Zealand. My advisor in the Chemistry Department, Dr. Samantha Glazier, has been my research mentor for the past 2 years. Our research group had the opportunity to present at the American Chemical Society National Conference in San Diego this spring. While in New Zealand I got to explore the Maori culture in and outside of class. In most of my free time I traveled to hike and ski in the New Zealand Alps. I continued taking classes to pursue my interests in attending Osteopathic Medical School after graduation.
