Student Internship 2015-2016 Academic Year

4/20/15 (All day) to 4/27/15 (All day)


-Update and maintain SLU Volunteer Services’ website using Drupal--consult with Mark Mende, SLU Dir. of Digital Communications, for specifics re: format and other University website requirements

- Identify and maintain an existing computer program, or design and develop a new program to regularly track students who volunteer—include number of students, number of hours worked, and their demographics (gender, class, group affiliations, etc.)

-Create and maintain social media outlets to market the office and keep SLU Community informed about volunteer opportunities (facebook, twitter etc.)

-Assists the Volunteer Services Coordinator with end-of-year recognition ceremonies, and any other specific programming celebrations sponsored by the Office. 

- Assist with marketing for student organizations as needed i.e. making posters, fliers, SLUwire postings



- Must be creative, well organized, and attentive to details. 

- Must be proficient in computer skills • Experience with social media and know how to use outlets as marketing tools

-Is able to identify and operate an existing tracking program as described above or has the ability to design and develop a new system with the same criteria 

- Works independently with minimal supervision

-Meets all scheduled deadlines


Hours are flexible but 50% of hours must be between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday in the student center

Remaining 50% of hours can be done after hours

On average it is 8 hours of week but ranges from 6-10 depending on projects
