Moving Up Day Award Winners

Each academic year, the Biology Department nominates exceptional students for our Moving Up Day Awards. 

 

The Beta Beta Beta outstanding Senior Award is given to a graduating biology major having outstanding achievements in academics, research and departmental service.

The Crowell Summer Scholarship in Field Biology is given to support field research in ecology, environmental science, and other natural history disciplines that are carried out at a field station.  The scholarship is given on the basis of need, ability and character and recognizes Robert L. Crowell, former head of the Thomas Y. Crowell Publishing Company and his interest in Natural History and Conservation.

The Lola D. and Bernard R. Norris Prize is a monetary prize given to a senior who meets the requirements of need and merit and who will be entering medical school next year.  This fund was created by Evan Norris, MD ’62 and Jay Norris, MD ’59 in honor of their parents Lola D. and Bernard R. Norris.

Delmage Pre-Medical Prize is a monetary prize presented to the senior who is a top pre-medical student and has been accepted at an accredited medical school.  Dr. Delmage was a distinguished North Country physician.  This award is given in his memory by the members of the Delmage family.
