August—Sophomore Tuesday: Connect With the Sophomore Success Initiative and our co-curricular and community partners for a half-day of programming open only to sophomores.  The goal is to re-energize sophomores on their return to campus, foster positive connections both on and off campus, and promote personal and community wellness.  This year's event takes place on August 27th. 

September—Navigating Your SLU Experience: Explore Academic and Co-Curricular Programs.  Faculty and staff from academic departments and co-curricular programs will help you explore your path at SLU and envision your career after graduation.  Drop in at any point during this walk-through event.  Look for more details from the Office of Career Services.   This fall's event will take place from 6:30-7:30 PM on Monday, September 2nd in the Sullivan Student Center.

October—Laurentians in Residence: Connect With Alumni and Parent Leaders for advice and insights on careers and professional development opportunities.  You can connect with alums and parents through classroom presentations, panel discussions, and networking and mentoring events. 

NovemberCIIS and Advising Workshop: Become More Informed About Off-Campus Study and Academic MajorsThe Associate Dean of International and Intercultural Studies and the Associate Dean of Advising will host an open session to answer questions about declaring a major, finding an advisor, applying for an internship or fellowship, and applying for off-campus study.  This program serves as a timely, practical check-in point as sophomores approach the February deadlines for off-campus study and major declarations.   

December—Fellowships and Internships: Become More Informed About Summer Fellowships and Internships: Do you have questions about SLU Summer Research Fellowships; Internships Fellowships; SLU Public Interest Corps (PIC); Tanner Fellowships; Saints Start Challenge Grants; and Davis Projects for Peace?  Join Career Services and representatives from fellowship and internship programs to explain the programs and help you determine which opportunity is right for you.  This workshop is an ideal way to jump start planning for your summer.

January--Sophomore Boot Camp: Explore Careers with Alumni and ParentsLearn about careers, management skills, networking, resume building, and interviewing skills.  Sponsored by The Career Connections Office this intensive two-day workshop is an excellent opportunity to hear from and network with successful alumni and parents from a variety of industries and organizations. Look for sign-up information in late October prior to the event.

January--Sophomore Tuesday: Connect With The Sophomore Success InitiativeAfter Boot Camp join us for the spring semester edition of Sophomore Tuesday.  You will receive one-on-one help with your off-campus study application and assistance in refining your academic goals, interests, and habits.  Look for registration information in December. 

February---Major Lunches: Explore A Major.  Join juniors, seniors, and faculty from various departments to learn more about academic majors.  Meet faculty and students who can help you navigate your way through your major (s) over the next two years. 

March and April---You Are Half Way To Graduation: CONGRATULATIONS! As you move into the final months of your sophomore year, we hope you will keep an eye out for department-specific, Academic Advising, and Career Services events that will help you navigate the rest of your academic career at St. Lawrence University and beyond.
