RE:       Report from the Task Force on the Causes and Prevention of Sexual Misconduct

I write to share the report that I received from the Task Force on Causes and Prevention of Sexual Misconduct. (SLU username and password are required) The Task Force was charged with exploring the current social climate, reviewing the relevant research literature, and measuring our campus processes and educational programs. From that informed study, they made recommendations about fostering a campus culture in which all forms of sexual misconduct are prevented from occurring. During the Board’s February meeting, the trustees heard a summary of the Task Force’s report, and the recommendations from the report are already under consideration by Senior Staff.

The Task Force deserves our thanks for their extraordinary work on this challenging topic. We need to give special recognition and praise to trustees Samantha Guerry ’88 and Heather McCauley ’06, who co-chaired the task force with Professor of Philosophy Erin McCarthy. Please join me in thanking them as well as the entire group for a job well done.
