SLU Astronomers Meet Alum at Green Bank Observatory
SLU astronomers Aileen O'Donoghue and Jeffrey Miller attended the 10th Undergraduate ALFALFA Workshop at the Green Bank Observatory from June 13 - 17, 2017. Also attending the workshop was SLU alum Evan Smith '16, who has been employed at the observatory since graduation. They attended talks, worked in and presented the results of group projects, and had the opportunity to observe with the Robert C. Byrd Green Bank Telescope, the world's largest fully steerable single aperture antenna. Evan will be entering the Ph.D. program in physics at West Virginia University in the fall. Photos of their adventures can be found in this photo gallery.
