Tonki Downs

A 1996 graduate of St. Lawrence, Tonki joined the Prospect Research and Prospect Management team in July 2022 as an Assistant Director after serving for four years as the Associate Director of Parent Leadership Giving and Major Gifts. She brings over 25 years of experience in higher education and previously held roles in Admissions and Community Based Learning at the University.

In addition to her BA in English and fine arts, Tonki also received a Masters of Counseling and Human Development degree from St. Lawrence in 2008. As an undergraduate she was a member of the field hockey team, studied abroad in London, and pursued her love of art while working in the Richard F. Brush Gallery.

Tonki resides in Canton with her husband, Chris, who is the head men’s basketball coach at St. Lawrence. They are parents to Andy ’24, Christopher ’26, and Winnie.
