Dr. Sharon Vegh Williams is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Education at St. Lawrence University. She received her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester in 2010. Prior to completing her doctoral degree, she taught in urban public schools in Boston and in rural schools on the Navajo Nation in Shiprock, New Mexico. Her research interests include museum education, multicultural education, literacy education, and teacher professional development. Her book Native Cultural Competency in Mainstream Schooling was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2018. Her work has also been published in the Journal of American Indian Education and Teacher Education Quarterly. Dr. Williams is the Founder and Executive Director of the North Country Children's Museum located in Potsdam. She currently resides in Potsdam, NY with her husband and two boys.
