Dr. FitzRandolph was an Associate Professor of Economics and taught economics to bright young minds at St. Lawrence since 1973, except for a three-year hiatus during which he served as Vice President for Student Affairs. He regularly taught courses in Investments and in American Economic History. His early research concentrated on financial intermediaries in the post bellum south and was published in the Journal of Economic History. His research focused on the pioneers of American finance and investment banking during the period of 1770 to 1820.
Dr. FitzRandolph was a St. Lawrence County Legislator for seventeen years and served as chair of the Finance Committee. He has spoken frequently to local groups on the financiers and entrepreneurs of 18th and 19th century New York.
