BIO: I grew up in the metropolitan area of NYC and escaped from the suburbs as soon as possible. My college sweetheart and I married forty years ago this coming September. We have two grown and married children. Previous to teaching college studio art, I worked as a children's book illustrator. My favorite mediums are intaglio printmaking and photography. I love teaching studio art at St. Lawrence. It is the most mentally challenging and emotionally rewarding work I have ever done. Thank you students and colleagues all.

"There are many kinds of study. Those whose study is of the real and rare kind get the habit. They can't throw it off. It's too good. They go on studying all their lives, and they have wonderful lives."
- Robert Henri, The Art Spirit, 1923
