The formative stage of Lawrence Boyette’s study of vernacular guitar styles took place on the stages of the bars and taverns of eastern North Carolina, and that study continued as a passion while he conducted graduate studies in American History. At St. Lawrence, Boyette has worked with music department ensembles and has taught for many years in the First Year Program and History Department.
