Jamie joined St. Lawrence in May 2014 as Director of Creative Services—it’s his job to oversee the design of all print, digital, and marketing communications materials for the University. In addition to these duties, he also acts as our brand steward to create and maintain the University’s graphic identity, building on St. Lawrence’s rich history of being an innovative and compelling visual brand.
Before joining our team, Jamie worked in publishing in New York City. He spent four years as a designer at Marie Claire magazine before taking the lead role as Art Director of Details, Creative Director at Fitness, assisting on the 2012 redesign of Harper’s Bazaar, and most recently, last year’s launch of beauty title New You. Here, he won two prestigious industry awards (Most Improved Publication, and Best Use of Photography) for his first two issues of the title’s relaunch. Jamie has also freelanced and done consulting for Food & Wine, Esquire, Seventeen, The New York Times Magazine, Men’s Health, Eating Well, and Redbook, among other publications. Beginning in 2003, he spent seven years living in Berlin, Germany where he was co-owner of a small kaffeehaus, “café Lois.” Jamie grew up in a rural area of Tennessee near Knoxville, and still hasn’t been to Dollywood.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from The University of Tennessee.
