Alie graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and recently completed her M.Ed. in Counseling & Human Development here at St. Lawrence University. Alie has worked with multiple programs on campus including the Sustainability Semester, the Center for Civic Engagement and the CSTEP and McNair Scholars program.
During the Sustainability Semester, Alie lived with students in a farm house 4 miles from campus. In this capacity, Alie worked with students to explore their sustainability values, develop an intentional community, connect with North Country residents and coordinate hands-on workshops. In the Center for Civic Engagement, she oversaw Community-Based Learning placements at food & farm-related organizations and coordinated the Community Mentor program. Now, as the Interim Program Coordinator for the CSTEP and McNair Scholars Program, Alie meets regularly with students in order to assist with educational and professional goal setting and to monitor student academic, financial, career, and personal success. In all of her roles, Alie has especially enjoyed helping individuals form meaningful connections while facilitating academic, professional, and personal development and encouraging a passion for lifelong learning.
Living in the North Country for over three years, Alie has found a deep appreciation for local food & the farmers who grow it, NCPR, cross country skiing, dinner outings at Jake's, paddling in the Adirondacks and uncovering the rich community that resides here.
