July

It's time for summer advising and course registration!

Transfer students should be in touch with the Registrar's Office and Associate Dean of Academic Advising to finalize transfer credits and course registration.

New first year students will know their FYP college and housing placement by now, and you'll also be getting in touch with your academic advisor to plan your courses for the fall semester.

Summer Advising is scheduled to begin July 26 and runs until August 3. Your advisor will reach out through your SLU email, but you'll also want to start familiarizing yourself with our course registration system, APR2, and our general education graduation requirements. When you log in to our registration system, you'll already be registered for your FYP course, so you can start looking for the other three courses you'll take this fall. Check out our videos introducing you to the process!

Course Registration is scheduled to open in APR2 August 4 (Wednesday) at 12 Noon Eastern Standard Time and remain open until 12 Noon Eastern Standard Time on August 23. We'll close registration just for the day on August 10 to prepare for lab registration for Biology, Chemistry, and other introductory-level science courses with labs. Lab registration starts on August 11 (a week later) at 12 Noon Eastern Standard Time, and the course registration system re-opens to general registration, too.

Parents will want to note that July 20 is the day all Student Health Forms are due. These can be completed by the student following the link to Medicat in the application status page.

All students, parents, and families will want to keep an eye out, too, for the first information regarding the fall tuition bill. It should be posted in the Student Account Center in the last week of July. Parents may want to ensure that your student has granted you access to their bill. To get in touch with Student Financial Services, call 315-229-5581.

Student athletes participating in fall sports teams should keep an eye on their SLU email for messages from coaches, including information about early arrival on campus, if required for your sport.

Just catching up? Don't worry; you can look back at last month's advice here.
