St. Lawrence University’s Diversity and Inclusion Week Committee is excited to celebrate our fifth Diversity & Inclusion week beginning Sunday, March 2 – Sunday, March 9, 2025.

Our theme this year is "From Awareness to Action."

The D&I Book Club will read Take My Hand by D. Gender, Equality and Equity

Diversity and Inclusion Ski Film Showcase

6 P.M., Carnegie 010, Hosted by Outing Club and Film Club. This event will showcase a series of short films that feature strong representation of people from all walks of life. Snacks will be provided.

Thursday, March 6

Climbing Beyond Barriers

11:30AM-1:00PM, Winston Room, Sullivan Student Center, Organized by the Outdoor Program. Push past personal and societal hurdles by rappelling off the balcony in the Winston Room. Followed by discussion on resilience and the power of diversity and inclusion.

"Dear Women of Color, You Inspire Us." 

5 P.M., Winston Room, Hosted by Carefree Black Girls. This interactive event celebrates the strength, beauty, and impact of women of color. Participants are invited to share or write affirmations, stories, and messages of appreciation for the women who inspire them—whether historical figures, community leaders, or loved ones. Through words of affirmation and creative expression, this event cultivates a space for recognition, empowerment, and collective appreciation. 

Keynote Speaker Ivy Watts

7 P.M., Winston Room, Ivy Watts will deliver a talk titled “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay – Tools for Self-Care & Mental Wellness." Sponsored by the Office for Diversity and Inclusion. This event is free and open to the public.

Guess That Tune

Make Your Own Identity Flags

They/Them: One Climber's Story

8 P.M., 48 Park St (POWER House), Hosted by POWER House. The movie is about a trans climber exploring identity and building resilience in the face of adversity.

BIPOC Potluck Dinner

6.00 PM, Dean Eaton Lounge, Organized by Black Student Union. This is an event organized in collaboration with other comes. It is an opportunity for us to meet each other while we enjoy a meal together. All are welcome!

Iftar

6.30 PM,  Eben Holden, Sponsored by Islamic Culture Club. We welcome you to join the Muslim community of the North Country as they break fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
