Ad Hoc Singers

Based in Gunnison Memorial Chapel on the St. Lawrence University campus, the Ad Hoc Singers, formed in 2008 to offer an opportunity for vocal chamber performance, perform not only in Gunnison Memorial Chapel but also around the North Country. The group often performs in concert with Sondra Goldsmith Proctor in special multi-cultural programs.

Jennifer Blewett is thrilled to join the Ad Hoc Singers this season! In addition to singing with Ad Hoc, Jennifer is a member of the St. Lawrence University Chorus and the Secretary of the Grasse River Players. She works at Frazer Computing where she programs forms and contracts that print through the Frazer Software and creates video tutorials for the software users. Jennifer is grateful for the opportunity to share her love of music and the arts with the community and thanks her family, especially her husband Richard, for their love and support. 

Alexandra Jacobs Wilke is the Director of Public Relations at The State University of New York at Potsdam. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in English and Journalism from Wagner College, and her Master's Degree in Public Relations from Ball State University. In addition to singing with Ad Hoc Singers, Alex serves on the Village of Potsdam Zoning Board of Appeals and the board of the North Country Children’s Museum. 

Galen Pletcher is a retired Emeritus Professor of Philosophy and Emeritus Dean of Arts and Sciences from State University of New York in Potsdam. Currently he serves on the Ethics Board of St. Lawrence County and the Management Board of United Helpers. In addition to singing with Ad Hoc Singers, he is a member of the Canton Presbyterian Church choir.

Julia Pomainville is a graduate of State University of New York at Potsdam with the Bachelor of Arts in Music History and Literature and the Bachelor of Education in Music. She maintains a private voice and piano studio where she greatly enjoys teaching students aged 4–70. In addition to singing with Ad Hoc Singers, she is also an adjunct voice instructor for the Department of Music at St. Lawrence University

Chris Rediehs recently retired as Commissioner of the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services, a position he has held since 2008. Prior to that he served as the Executive Director of the St. Lawrence Housing Council and staff attorney for North Country Legal Services. He holds a law degree from the University of Minnesota and a Masters of Urban Planning from the University of Illinois. From 1986-88 he served in the Peace Corps as the Planning Officer in Solomon Islands. In addition to singing with Ad Hoc Singers, he also sings in the St. Lawrence University Chorus and The Any Time Music Singers.
