    On and Off Capitol Hill, Students Practice High-Impact Careers Through D.C. Internships

    Every year, Laurentians headed for summer internships in Washington D.C. pack their best business attire, prepare to navigate the Metro system, and tap their networks to find temporary housing in our nation’s capital city. Many of these students got their first taste of living and working in D.C. while on a SLU Connect networking trip earlier in the year.

    St. Lawrence Ranked Among Nation’s Best Colleges by U.S. News

    St. Lawrence’s reputation among the nation's top liberal arts colleges remains strong according to U.S. News and World Report’s annual “Best Colleges” rankings, released on Sept. 18. The publication also recognized St. Lawrence’s stellar psychology and economics programs.

    Every year, inquisitive students spend their summers at St. Lawrence, working alongside faculty mentors and diving deep into the topics that spark their curiosity. Whether in the studio or archives, summer research fellowships allow students interested in the arts and humanities to gain hands-on experience, create something new, and communicate their findings.

    Every summer, St. Lawrence students immerse themselves in the North Country community while working alongside local organizers, advocates, farmers, and business leaders, thanks to the St. Lawrence University Public Interest Corps (SLUPIC).

    Welcome, St. Lawrence Class of 2027!

    St. Lawrence’s newest Laurentians should already feel immensely proud of themselves. From their high school achievements in the classroom and community, the members of the Class of 2027 bring passion and curiosity to their next great adventure in the North Country and enter St. Lawrence with the highest-ever cumulative GPA of 93. Forty-three percent graduated at the top of their class. They celebrated their Matriculation on Sunday, August 20, and are now poised to make their mark on St. Lawrence.

    St. Lawrence’s Friendly Students, Faculty, and Science Facilities Stand Out in The Princeton Review

    St. Lawrence University was named to The Princeton Review’s “Best 389 Colleges” list for 2024. Based solely on results from student surveys, the popular rankings publication once again recognized several exemplary aspects of co-curricular and academic life on campus.

    St. Lawrence Students Awarded Record Number of Gilman Scholarships

    This academic year, 15 St. Lawrence students were awarded the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarships, marking the largest cohort of Gilman scholars in St. Lawrence history. Funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, this program will support students’ opportunities to study and pursue internships and research abroad over the next year.

    Nestled in the left wing on the main floor of Owen D. Young Library, St. Lawrence’s new podcasting studio is a space intentionally designed with collaboration and creativity in mind.
