The Top 10 St. Lawrence News Stories from 2018
A gift to advance Appleton Arena renovations, recognition of St. Lawrence’s strong alumni network, and several national rankings were among the Top-10 University news stories of 2018.
A $10 million gift from alumnus Tom Dolan ’74 and the Dolan Family Foundation has set in motion the Appleton Arena renovation project. The renovations will enhance the appeal of the building, improve the fan experience, and provide student-athletes with superior facilities.
Laurentians were also incredibly proud this year of their Alumni Network, which was named No. 3 in the nation in The Princeton Review’s Colleges That Pay You Back, which was released in January. The ranking was based on student ratings of alumni activity and visibility on campus. In March, St. Lawrence was recognized this year for its study abroad and international student programming, when NAFSA: Association of International Educators named St. Lawrence a 2018 recipient of the Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization. And in August, Career Services and Thelmo received strong national rankings in The Princeton Review’s Best Colleges guide.
The Laurentian community also took great pride in reading about new faculty hires as well as faculty and staff anniversaries and retirements.
