Top 10 SLU News Stories of Spring 2019
The Laurentian alumni network, student success, academics, volunteering and Appleton Arena all help to round out the most popular news stories of the Spring 2019 semester at St. Lawrence University.
St. Lawrence’s alumni network held steady at No. 3 for best in the nation, according to The Princeton Review’s Colleges That Pay You Back. The popular college guidebook also named St. Lawrence a "Best School for Internships."
In January, the University announced that work would begin on Appleton Arena, with the first phase of the renovations to be completed in time for the start of the 2019-20 hockey season.
Laurentians also celebrated a transformational $15 million gift toward The Campaign for Every Laurentian. In addition to a $10 million outright gift, $5 million will create two endowed professorships in public health; one in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) or social science field, and one in an arts, humanities, or interdisciplinary field.
Students also told us what you can do with a multi-field major and what makes St. Lawrence a great school for skiing and snowboarding. The Laurentian community also applauded Moving-Up Day as well as the Festival of Science, Scholarship and Creativity.
