Street Art Exhibition to be Featured in Berlin Gallery
A sticker art exhibition, titled "Paper Bullets: 100 Years of Political Stickers from Around the World," curated by Catherine Tedford, director of the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery, will be shown at the Neurotitan Gallery in Berlin, Germany, from July 13 to Aug. 3, 2019.
Tedford first discovered street art stickers while visiting Berlin, Germany, in 2003 and has since collected over 12,000 examples from countries around the world. She writes about political stickers on her research blog, Stickerkitty.com and has presented papers at academic conferences in Canada, England, Germany, Scotland, and the United States. In 2014 and 2015, two different Paper Bullets exhibitions were presented at Hatch Sticker Museum, Berlin, Germany. A variation of Paper Bullets also appeared in the U.S. at Susquehanna University in 2015 and at Central Washington University in 2018.
In 2015, The Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) selected St. Lawrence to participate in its Consortium on Digital Resources for Teaching and Research. The award supports digital archiving of a sizable street art collection housed at the Brush Art Gallery while allowing faculty, students and staff to engage in collaborative work with other institutions.
