Sociology Prof.'s Op-Ed Runs in 'The Hill'
Stephen Barnard, assistant professor of sociology, wrote an opinion article on President Trump's use of Twitter for The Hill.
Barnard argues that Trump uses Twitter to minimize his reliance on professional media gatekeepers in order to spread his message.
"Twitter, open even to non-users, has proven to be a remarkably powerful platform where the president can reach his follower base of nearly 60 million," Barnard wrote. "As of a few months ago, Trump had tweeted more than 5,400 times since taking office."
