SLU Gospel Choir, Gospel Band to Perform in Heuvelton

The SLU Community Gospel Choir and Gospel Band will perform a Christmas concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, at Pickens Hall in Heuvelton. Admission is free, however donations to benefit Pickens Hall are encouraged.

The SLU Community Gospel Choir is a volunteer, non-auditioned Gospel Choir. The choir, along with the Gospel Band, provides music for the weekly Gospel Service, which takes place on Sundays at 4 p.m. in Gunnison Memorial Chapel. The Gospel Choir also sings at campus events and in the community.

The Gospel Choir is a multi-cultural, multi-racial and multi-faith ensemble. Membership includes those from St. Lawrence, neighboring colleges and the local community. As an inclusive, welcoming and diverse community, the choir sings contemporary and traditional songs that speak of unity, hope, love and reconciliation. “No experience necessary … only a willing spirit!” says The Rev. Shaun Whitehead, St. Lawrence's associate chaplain.
