Princeton Review Names SLU A Top College for Internships

In its recent publication, Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck, The Princeton Review named St. Lawrence one of the 25 best colleges for internships.

The ranking in The Princeton Review was determined by students’ ratings of accessibility of internship placement at their school.

St. Lawrence University offers several internship opportunities to students, ranging from University Fellows programs, which provides funding for summer research, to the Internship Fellowships program, which are designed to promote leadership and career development opportunities for undergraduate students.

As part of the Internship Fellowship program, Jennifer Lifsitz ’17 got to fulfill her passion for marine science by working at the New England Aquarium in Boston, while Morgan O'Hare '16, a pre-med student, shadowed Dr. Robert A Montgomery ’82 and interned at his colleague’s kidney transplant research lab at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Back on campus, several students had the opportunity to work alongside faculty mentors as University Fellows. Brittany Cuff ’16, Hal Starnes ’17 and Liqian Ma ’16 all conducted various research on cerium oxide nanoparticles, powerful antioxidants that multiple St. Lawrence University faculty have been researching for several years.
