St. Lawrence University’s Noon in the Chapel will perform music for Black History Month, beginning at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, in Gunnison Memorial Chapel. The performance is free and open to the public.
Several spirituals will be performed by Sondra Goldsmith Proctor, St. Lawrence’s organist and musician-in-residence, and the Ad Hoc Singers, featuring Jennifer Blewett, Julia Pomainville and Chris Rediehs. The concert will feature a tribute to Harriet Tubman with “Exodus,” a composition by Sharon J. Willis, a composer, conductor and singer from the Atlanta area. Hana Bushara ’21 will narrate.
Parking for chapel events will be in H-Lot, across from Griffiths Arts Center and next to Vilas Hall. There also will be a drop-off location and limited handicapped parking spaces in front of Richardson Hall and at the front of the chapel.
