History Prof. Warns Against 'Deep State' Language

In an article featured in, Howard Eissenstat, associate professor of history, cautioned against language indicating that a "deep state" exists within the U.S. government.

Eissenstat and others compared the intelligence leaks currently taking place in U.S. to what has taken place in Turkey, a country with a history of military and intelligence official influencing politicians behind the scenes. In the U.S., by comparison, the leaks are more of a case of whistleblowing.
