History Prof. Op-Ed on Kenyan Election Runs in 'The Hill'

Matthew Carotenuto, associate professor of history and coordinator of the African studies program, wrote an opinion article on the Kenyan Supreme Court nullifying the Aug. 8 presidential election that was featured in The Hill.

Carotenuto said that, "By reminding voters (incumbent president Uhuru Kenyatta) was still the president and making veiled accusations of foreign tampering, Kenyatta set the stage for the electoral battle ahead using proven political tactics from the past."
