History Prof. Lends Expertise on Turkish Situation

Howard Eissenstat, associate professor of history and an faculty expert on Turkish affairs, has been quoted in national and international media on the purges against faculty and media in Turkey following the attempted coup.

Eissenstat says that the coup attempt was a "radical accelerant" to President Recep Tayyip Erdo─čan's authority that's been underway for a number of years.
