Biology Prof. Research Shared in Florida Media
Associate Professor of Biology Susan Willson's study into the use of colorful collars to prevent cats from sneaking up on songbirds received renewed attention in a several Florida news articles.
Willson is working with the Florida Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit of the U.S. Geological Survey on new study of the collar's effectiveness.
Willson's original study of the collars was conducted in 2013 in a northern latitude. The new study will aim to determine if the collars work in southern latitudes where birds are more prone to having longer breeding seasons.
