Anthropology Prof. Co-Wrote Article Published in 'Nature'

Mindy Pitre, assistant professor of anthropology, co-wrote an article that was published in the June 5, 2017, edition of Nature Plants.

The article, titled "Isotope evidence for agricultural extensification reveals how the world's first cities were fed," sheds new light on the agricultural and political economy that underpinned the growth of some of the world's oldest cities in Mesopotamia, in present-day northern Syria.

The team of researchers took samples of the skeletal collection from Tell Leilan (ancient Northern Mesopotamia), which are currently being curating at St. Lawrence.
