Saints Shut Out CompetitionMen’s Hockey: The Skating Saints went 2-0 with wins over Brown and Yale. Rasmus Svartström, Sam LeDrew, and Isack Bandu scored against Brown, while Cameron Smith made 31 saves. Following a Senior Night ceremony for four veterans, Isaac Tremblay netted a hat trick to beat Yale 5-2. LeDrew earned ECAC Rookie of the Week honors, and the team finishes the regular season at Cornell and Colgate this weekend. Men’s Lacrosse: The Saints opened the 2026 season by defeating Western New England. Junior Daniel Mahoney led the way with eight goals—tying a program record—and recorded his 100th career point. Rafferty Callahan made 11 saves in the win. The Scarlet and Brown travel to St. John Fisher this weekend. Women’s Track: The Saints took first place at their home meet, highlighted by first-year Ella Baker setting a program record in the 60-meter dash (7.86). Amelia Berthold took third in the hurdles, while the triple jump squad swept the podium. The team, currently ranked 27th nationally in AARTFC distance rankings, heads to RIT for the Liberty League Championships this weekend. Women’s Tennis: Now 4-0, the Saints shut out Rochester behind singles and doubles wins from Angelica Aksdal-Jansen and Molly Jespersen. After sweeping all three doubles matches, the team prepares for its first Liberty League match at home against RIT this Saturday. Squash: Both teams defeated Bates 8-1 on Senior Day. The men’s seniors went 5-0, while the women’s seniors finished 4-0. Sophomore Angel Otshabeng secured a five-game victory in the top spot to lead the women. Both squads conclude their seasons this weekend at the CSA Team Nationals in Philadelphia. Basketball: Both programs host "win or go home" Liberty League playoff openers on Tuesday. The men secured home-court advantage after a recent win over Union. Following a weekend split against Capital Region rivals, a win would send the women to Union and the men to RPI for the next round. Alec Nolan Qualifies for NCAAs: Senior Alec Nolan will represent the Saints at the 2026 NCAA Skiing Championship in Utah from March 11-14. Nolan qualified as the program's sole representative after a season featuring six top-15 finishes and two top-fives. For up-to-date scores and information, visit SaintsAthletics.com. |

In Memory
On February 18, President Morris informed the Laurentian community about the passing of Emeritus Piskor Professor of English Albert “Al” Glover P’90, ’96. Al joined the St. Lawrence faculty in 1968 and taught English and poetry for nearly four decades, retiring in 2005. He was known for his unique, engaging classes and concern for his students. A poet, author or co-author of more than a dozen books and chapbooks, he published five volumes of his own poetry and contributed meaningfully to the literary life of the North Country and beyond. He enjoyed volunteer work, playing guitar, writing, caring for his home and family, playing hockey and golf, and, on occasion, sitting with great blue herons by the Little River. |
