St. Lawrence University & Hamilton College collaborated and offered an Advanced Arabic Course in the fall of 2015

For the past three months, St. Lawrence University and Hamilton College used a synchronous interactive web conferencing lecture tool (WebEx) to offer an advanced course in Arabic. As part of the New York Six Language Learning Groups project, an initiative funded by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, support is being offered to expand instruction in less-commonly taught languages, including Arabic, through intercampus interactions.  Gisele El Khoury, Director of the Language Resource Center and the Arabic Instructor at St. Lawrence University, worked during the summer of 2015 in collaboration with Mireille Koukjian, visiting instructor in Arabic at Hamilton College, to develop an Advanced Arabic course that can be opened up to students at any of the New York Six schools.
