How to find books
St. Lawrence University Library Catalog
Use Encore or ODYsseus to find books and e-books for your assignments. Encore and ODYsseus are our library catalogs and both list holdings at all 3 libraries on campus.
Keep in mind that call numbers group books by topic so if you find one book on your topic, the books around it on the shelves are likely to deal with similar topics.
Also keep in mind that Location is of as much importance as the call number when finding books. Note that the same book might be found in ODY and Launders Science Library. Location also tells you if the book is in the regular stacks or somewhere else.
If you are unable to loacate an item in the SLU library catalog, the next step is to browse ConnectNY. ConnectNY is a group of libraries in the state of NY that lend and borrow books from each other. Click the blue ConnectNY icon within Encore or ODYsseus.
Still can't find what you're looking for? You may request a specific title via ILLiad (but always try ConnectNY first). You must sign up for an ILLiad account on your own, if you have not already done so. Just go to My Accounts -> Interlibrary Loan to sign in or create an account.
