And we have turned these into our newest manuscript collection--Twentieth Century Paperbacks. This collection consistes of 220 paperbacks published between 1929 and 1978, covering almost every year in that span, and representing 19 publishing houses, most notably Pocket Books. From the cover art to the feel of the paper to the light heft these are perfect examples of this bibliographic commonplace that has become a part of some many people's lives. The purpose of this collection is to provide faculty and students a resource for bibliiographic study, and for, hopefully, other creative research on the format for books that is most likely to be in an American home. These books together are a wonderful glimpse into publishing and reader's tastes over a considerable span of the Twentieth Century.
