Core Collection of Government Documents

Ironically, publications of the Federal Government are one of the best sources for unfiltered text of documents that have ongoing impact on people living in the United States.  A central part of the Core Collection is authoritative public access to critical legal documents:

  • Budget of the United States
  • Code of Federal Regulations
  • Compilation of Presidential Documents
  • Constitution of the United States
  • Federal Register
  • United States Code
  • United States Reports (Supreme Court)

The Core Collections links to a variety of other materials too, of particular note is American Factfinder which provides access to demographic information (available down to county and place level), and govinfo.gov which is search utility for the breadth of government materials.  We link to the Core Collection through our Government Information page, and questions about government documents can be directed to any of the public service staff in Launders or ODY.
