This article explains the steps Information Technology takes when a network account is suspected of being compromised/hacked/phished.
If a St. Lawrence email account is compromised it is often used to send large amounts of spam or conduct other nefarious actions. If our email system detects this activity, the account password is immediately changed. This prevents further unauthorized access to St. Lawrence network resources. The IT HelpDesk will contact the account owner via the phone number that is on record with the University as soon as possible during business hours.
