We have learned of the deaths of three retired members of the University’s support staff, and extend sincere condolences to their families.

Madeline Zimmer, 88, died on February 24, in Greenville, TX; her family recently contacted us with this news.   Mandy Zimmer retired from her position as Executive Secretary to the Vice President of Administration in 1988, after serving St. Lawrence for 27 years.  Her family celebrates her many skills, especially cooking, gardening and making beautiful ceramics.

Wallace LaPointe, 89, died on June 26, at United Helpers in Canton.  Wallace retired from St. Lawrence in 1988 where he worked for 23 years in Dining Services and Brewer Bookstore.  His passion for gardening earned him the admiration of his friends and colleagues.

Donald McKenna, 84, served in the United States Navy before beginning his career in welding, and then joining St. Lawrence University in 1962 in skilled trades. He retired in 1992 and is remembered for his love of many sports.   Mr. McKenna died on July 5.

We invite you to extend your condolences to their families on the Memorial Web site we have prepared.
