Class year:
Middleburg, Virginia
Women's Rowing Team, Thelmo Senator, Commons College, peer tutor, research assistant

Lizzy says she majored in History because "it has always been so intriguing to me, to be able to look at centuries and millennia of human life and see how it has shaped our lives today."  Her favorite thing about majoring in history was the diversity of courses.  "I'd never taken a course on Middle Eastern history prior to St. Lawrence," she says.  As a History major, "I've done close readings of the U.S. Constitution, learned about the Japanese occupation of Korea, and so much more."  In her junior year, Lizzy studied in Chiang Mai, Thailand for a semester. "The walls surrounding the city were built in the thirteenth century and many of the temples and traditions have been around for thousands of years. To be able to admire and participate in such a vibrant and long-lasting culture was an incredible experience."  She says that she is "currently volunteering with local non-profits here in Virginia, but hope to work full time in child-welfare non-profit development."
