Lilly majored in History because "it was an interesting and relevant way to hone my writing and critical thinking skills." The major also enabled her to "draw connections between places that are many years or miles apart," which, she says, "brings us all closer." She spent a semester of her junior year in Kenya, and engaged in independent study in Uganda. Her Senior Year Experience project examined Kenyan fictional portrayals of Nairobi and urban culture. At SLU she also competed on the women's rowing team. Next year, Lilly will work as an academic intern at North Country School in Lake Placid.
