GS major Lama awarded Tanner Fellowship

Congratulations to Dolma Lama '14, a Global Studies major from Canton, NY, who is one of nine St. Lawrence students recently awarded a Tanner Fellowship.  Lama's project is titled "Comparison of the Impact of Tourism in the Mustang District of Nepal vs. the Manana District of Nepal." According the university's press release announcing this year's winners, the Tanner Fellowship program was established in 1995 to assist students "to enlarge their capacities to make a positive and creative mark on the world by enabling them to design and pursue educational experiences not otherwise available to them."  Lama is the most recent of several GS majors to be honored with a Tanner Fellowship in recent years.
