Learning Goals

The department seeks to:

• Assist students in constructing knowledge, skills and habits of mind to enhance their own lives and those of the people they serve in processes related to teaching, learning, and growing on a variety of levels and domains.
• Promote and model liberal learning – broad knowledge of fields of inquiry throughout the disciplines, in-depth knowledge of a specific discipline, and specific knowledge and skills in pedagogy.
• Extend and enhance students’ knowledge, skills, and habits of mind to the level of professional practice.
