Event Description: The Clarkson Chief Inclusion Office and the St. Lawrence University Office for Diversity & Inclusion have collaborated to create a self-care series open to all and focused on the needs and healing of BIPOC students. This semester we will have sessions addressing: mental health, spiritual health, sexual health, physical health, and culturally relevant veganism. Every other Friday starting on Friday 5 Feb. we will host a different session.
Join Danny Fluker, Jr, founder of Black Boys OM, to explore the work of Black Boys OM, Breathwork and Guided Meditation, Journaling, and a Beginners Yoga Flow. Learn how to appreciate the benefits of yoga without appropriating its cultural traditions. We hope that participants will leave feeling empowered and centered.
Bio: Danny is a Atlanta Native, Freelance Writer, Yoga and Meditation practitioner, 200 Hour Registered Yoga Instructor Instructor. Danny has a professional background in Telecom Infrastructure and IT Support. He is also passionate about wellness accessibility and representation. Black Boys OM started as Danny's brainchild. The idea grew into building a network that impacts local communities through Wellness Leaders who are already using the tools of mindfulness and Yoga for themselves. This network became a grassroots movement and has transitioned into a non-profit.
