SLU Rotaract Hosts Relay for Life

~Written by Lizzie Bastien '15

In November of 2014, the SLU Rotaract Club hosted a twelve-hour Relay for Life event to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. With over two hundred participants and twelve thousand dollars raised, the event was a huge success! For the team of Community Mentor’s involved, it was exciting to see the St. Lawrence and local North Country communities come together to support such a significant cause. Despite the late hour, participants remained energetic and excited to unite in the fight for a cure. From the inspirational opening remarks of President Fox and survivor Morgan O’Hare ’16 to the Luminaria Ceremony and hourly theme laps, the experience was both memorable and enjoyable for the CCE’s Community Mentors.
