Hannah Markey '19 Co-Authors Brookings Institution Foreign Policy Piece

Hannah Markey '19 is an intern at the Brookings Institution this summer and will enter Georgetown's Master of Arts in Arab Studies (MAAS) program. She just co-authored a piece in a national media outlet with Michael E. O’Hanlon, Senior Fellow - Foreign Policy-Director of Research - The Sydney Stein, Jr. Chair at the Brookings Institution. Mike has been a great mentor for SLU interns each summer and this is his 4th co-authored piece with an SLU student.

The National Interest - Is Africa's Narrative Changing?

During Hannah's undergrad experience at SLU, she studied off-campus twice, first in Kenya, then in Jordan.  She received multiple grants to further her studies while off campus.  Also, she worked for the Center of International and Intercultural Studies (CIIS) as a student peer advisor for multiple semesters.  Hannah featured in the University Magazine.
