Nicoline Carlson Sawabini ’79, P’15

Nicoline Sawabini recently retired as a managing director for risk management at GE Capital Commercial Real Estate. Her primary responsibilities included global oversight of the business’s environment health and safety, engineering, insurance, and policy resources. She also held the additional role of enterprise and operational risk leader for real estate.

Sawabini joined General Electric’s Financial Management Program after graduating from St. Lawrence and held numerous assignments at GE Investment Corporation, GE Corporate Headquarters and at GE Capital. After completing the program, she held various finance positions within GE Capital until 1986, when she joined GE Capital’s Real Estate business. There, she held roles in risk management, spanning from new business to asset management to workouts. During her 36 years with GE, Sawabini led global teams that have performed due diligence and closings on billions of dollars of complex real estate transactions.

Sawabini graduated from St. Lawrence cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics. As a student, she was a member of Kappa Delta Sigma and studied abroad in Denmark. As an alumna, she has been a member of St. Lawrence’s Parents Committee, served as a Laurentian-in-Residence panelist and mentored several students in the Laurentians Investing in Networking and Careers (LINC) program. Sawabini is married to Stuart Sawabini, and they have two daughters, Kathryn ’15 and Abigail.

Zhihong "Hook" Huang '02

Zhihong Huang, originally from Beijing, China, earned his St. Lawrence degree in economics and mathematics/computer sciences in 2002. In May 2011, he earned an Executive MBA from the Columbia Business School. Hook is currently the CCO/COO of QSemble Capital Management LP / Causa Capital LP. Previously, Hook was the COO of Engineer Gate Manager, LP, a quantitative proprietary trading fund. Also, he was a director of operations at SAC Multiquant, Head Equity Trader at Tykhe Capital in New York, and started his career as a research analyst at Analysis Group in Boston. Hook was also involved in a variety of extracurricular organizations as a student at St. Lawrence and has been active in enhancing the University’s international alumni network. Hook is married to Ogniana “Oggie” Hristova-Huang ’02 and they have two sons.
