Speak with Cheyenne Tardie '18 who is currently serving in the Peace Corps. This is a great opportunity to as someone who has recently gone through the application process and who is currently serving about their experience in the Peace Corps. Cheyenne says: "Hello to all of my fellow SLU-mates who are considering the Peace Corps as their next step! I graduated from St. Lawrence in the spring of 2018, with a degree in psychology and studio art. Thanks to the variety of opportunities SLU provides, I am now currently a Peace Corps volunteer, serving in Albania. I arrived in the country January 21, 2019, and I have about another year and a half left. Thus far, service has been nothing short of life-changing…in the best way possible. I live in a small community and work in a local high school teaching English. Though my primary job is teaching, I have the freedom to work on other projects in which my community and I agree upon. It is most important to keep in mind that each experience you or another volunteer has during service is unique that person. As my PC country director always says, the Peace Corps will be the hardest job you will ever love, and I can’t wait to share my experience with you all!
