The end of your junior year and the summer before your senior year is a great time to get a head start on your graduate school applications. In this workshop we will review a graduate school timeline, checklist, and what you should be considering if you are planning to apply to graduate school in 2018-2019.
In this working session, we will edit resumes and draft cover letters. Please bring a copy of your most current resume and a description of a job or internship that you are hoping to apply to.

Searching for something to do over the summer? Attend this workshop to explore various internships, job shadows, research and professional development opportunities. CSTEP & McNair staff will work with you to find interesting postings and create an application plan.
This workshop will review how to submit a CSTEP or McNair Summer Research Proposal including finding a research mentor or internship supervisor, writing a proposal and program expectations/requirements.
Now is the time to begin exploring summer research and internship opportunities. In this info session we will review various summer research databases, local internships, and review the CSTEP & McNair research and internship application process and requirements so that you can get a head start over winter break.
In just one hour, students will create their very own personal budget. Leave the workshop with the tools you need to manage your money each month. Budgets give you control, organization, more money and better opportunities.
There are many tips and tricks within Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. In this interactive workshop we will cover simple tools within Microsoft Suite that will help you produce well-formatted research papers, well-designed posters & PowerPoint presentations, and organized Excel spreadsheets.

This weekly CSTEP & McNair event is for program students currently in the process of applying to graduate school. Please feel free to stop by at any time between 4-6pm to receive feedback on your personal statements, edit your CV, draft emails to prospective faculty, create a Graduate School Application Submission Timeline, explore scholarship opportunities, etc.
This session counts towards one of the two CSTEP & McNair monthly meeting requirements for seniors.
