Molly Schaller, Ph.D., is interim dean of and associate professor in the Department of Education at St. Louis University.  Prior to joining the faculty at St. Louis University, she served as chair of the Department of Counselor Education and Human Services, associate professor and a fellow in the Learning Teaching Center at the University of Dayton.  With a Ph.D.

Habsburg Art Leading to the Thirty Years’ War

This talk explores ways in which ancient myth and Renaissance symbolism were called into service during the Thirty Years’ War (1618-48), in the Hapsburg lands of Central Europe.  Artworks and texts relayed supernatural events and cast the Hapsburg Emperors as apostles, messiahs, and rulers of a final world monarchy.

Performance: Flor de Metal

As part of the celebration of the Day of the Dead, there will be a performance by Flor de Metal.

Flor de Metal is a Mexican duo formed by Ivonne Torresdey and Leonardo Mendivil in the fall of 1995. The work of these artists has been basically developed in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, however, the musical experience of each of them in different groups, they it has allowed presented in several cities in Mexico and US border cities.
